A new Netflix documentary has created quite a stir online, with viewers unable to believe what they’ve witnessed.
Escaping Twin Flames premiered on November 8, and viewers have been stunned by what they’ve seen in the month afterward.
The stunning video delves inside the Twin Flames Universe, a cult founded by Shaleia and Jeff Divine that claims individuals will discover their true love if they join.
What begins as a simple documentary rapidly devolves into complete pandemonium, with each episode offering more and more horrific turns.
Viewers have been taking to Twitter, aka X, to share their bewilderment at the series, with one user, Abraham, summing it all up by writing: ‘My mind is f***ed after watching that.’
Others described it as ‘absolutely insane,’ ‘mad’, ‘f*****g wild’ and ‘so twisted.’
User Jacqui said she had just finished watching the series and was ‘shook,’ adding it was ‘a must-watch to wrap your head around this madness.’
‘I am in disbelief at every single thing about this show,’ user Chica Gibson added, while Lucy Burdge agreed it was ‘INSANE.’
User Whitney said she had finished the series and was ‘still reeling,’ while Jeff said ‘Christ, my mind was blown.’
Without giving too much away, the cult begins manipulating its members in highly distressing ways, as individuals break off contact with their families and abandon their jobs to totally devote to the organisation.
Members are instructed to continue bothering the person they feel is their Twin Flame, even if that person expressly states that they are not interested, resulting in members receiving restraining orders and some even ending up in prison.
And that’s just the beginning, as the cult descends even deeper into the rabbit hole as Jeff proclaims himself the second coming of Jesus Christ and devises even more terrifying methods of controlling his members.
We cannot emphasise how bizarre this becomes enough.
Families of members take part in the documentary and relate their anguish at being separated from their loved one, while former members recount their stories of how they were drawn in – some reaching the top before recognising they were in a cult.
The documentary is described by Netflix as a look at a “sinister love story,” with directors Cecilia Peck and Inbal B Lessner saying they made it “for everyone who has been manipulated or coerced without knowing it.”
