If Love Island’s return wasn’t enough, may we present to you another season of Killer Camp?

The reality programme previously branded ‘Murder Love Island’ is set to land on ITV2, according to reports, right as we return to the villa for another round of the Laura Whitmore-fronted dating show.

Killer Camp – which was piloted with five episodes in 2019 – is reported to have landed a full season and will see contestants try and find love, all while trying to work out who the ‘killer’ is among them.

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: ‘This is already being dubbed ‘Murder Love Island’ as the two ITV2 shows share so many similarities.

‘But obviously Killer Camp adds a twist which has echoes of cult Ryan Murphy show American Horror Story: 1984.

‘And if they make it to the end of the contest they don’t just stand a chance of finding another half, there’s also the promise of scooping some cool, hard cash.’

The show will see a bunch of hopefuls dropped at a lodge by a lake in Estonia, where they will compete with one another to work out who is the ‘killer’ before getting ‘killed; themselves.

ITV chiefs reportedly decided to bring the show back after a successful trial around Halloween time in 2019 and production has restarted again after being delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s been reported Bobby Mair is to set to present the programme, which was a hit with viewers when it aired in 2019.

According to Variety, US network CW added Killer Camp to its fall lineup of shows set to hit screens in the coming months.

This auspicious TV news comes as ITV are yet to confirm where Love Island will take place this year.

Last year’s series of the ITV2 dating show was axed due to aforementioned pandemic, and while it is hoped the 2021 summer series will return to Majorca, nothing has been confirmed.

Could it be that this year we’re blessed with two love-based reality shows? We’re a spoilt bunch.
