Gordon Ramsay is back with another cooking show for us to enjoy, this time with the assistance of some special pals.
The series, which debuted in the United States, features a variety of candidates competing on different floors of a three-story kitchen in an attempt to impress judges Hell’s Kitchen star Paul Ainsworth and Nyesha Arrington.
Nyesha, who also serves as a judge on the American series, has appeared on The Taste and Chopped Next Gen.
Gordon and Paul have a long history, since the Masterchef judge worked for the Kitchen Nightmares presenter for six years.
As fans prepare for the forthcoming eight-part season, here’s a summary of how the show works.
How does Next Level Chef work?

The eight-part series follows 12 aspiring cooks as they prepare a variety of scrumptious dishes in what the producers describe as “the toughest and most epic cooking contest on TV.”
The kitchen is divided into three levels, with each room testing the participants’ culinary inventiveness, agility, flair, and experience as they compete to advance to the Next Level.
Throughout the show, the chefs will be mentored by Gordon, Paul, and Nyesha as they battle for a £100,000 reward.
‘At the beginning of my career, I started in the basement,’ said Gordon, 56.
‘Then you work up to this semi-decent kitchen, and then 20 years later, you build this state-of-the-art kitchen, and that’s how the idea for this was born.
‘They’re cooking what they’re grabbing and by the time we get to the basement, there are minimal ingredients, but that’s where you find out the most about yourself. This is about bringing the best out of individuals.’
Guest stars include Gino D’Acampo, Big Zuu (actual name Zuhair Hassan), and Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Tilly Ramsay.
Speaking about the celebrity cameos, British chef Paul told Metro.co.uk: ‘I found Big Zuu really inspiring, and that round was one of my favourites along with the £2.50 challenge, and he really inspired them [the contestants]. He was brilliant!’
Next Level Chef airs tonight at 9pm on ITV.
