Nick Cannon’s daytime talk show set to launch after delay over anti-semitism controversy

Nick Cannon’s daytime talk show will officially launch this fall, after being pushed back last year.

The new syndicated talk show was meant to premiere last September, however it was put on hold after TV personality landed in hot water due to ‘anti-Semitic comments’.

During a podcast recorded back in July, Cannon said: ‘It’s never hate speech. You can’t be anti-Semitic when we are the Semitic people, when we are the same people who they want to be. That’s our birthright. We are the true Hebrews.’

The star later issued an apology on social media, admitting his words ‘reinforced the worst stereotypes of a proud and magnificent people and I feel ashamed of the uninformed and naive place that these words came from.’

However, the Wild ‘n Out host is moving forward as he told Variety in a statement: ‘It’s been a longtime dream of mine to host my own daytime talk show and that I’m able to do this in New York City, bringing daytime television back to the place that has fostered generations of talent, is very special to me.

‘With this show, we’ll be uniting all aspects of entertainment in a unique way in the very place where a lot of what we know today as our culture started. I couldn’t ask for better partners than Debmar-Mercury and Fox and thank them for supporting me in this endeavour.’
