Simon Cowell’s Golden Buzzer Act Nightbirde shared a candid post about her sadness over missing out on the America’s Got Talent finale amid her ongoing cancer battle.

The 30-year-old singer became a frontrunner following her powerful audition earlier this year, however she was unable to remain the competition series after her health took a ‘turn for the worse’ in early August.

The It’s Okay hitmaker, real name Jane Marczewski, took to Instagram hours after season 16 came to an end to share her frank but hopeful attitude about her current situation.

‘It’s so hard for me to not be on the @agt stage for the finals this week. I bet you never saw someone win so hard and lose so hard at the same time. This isn’t how the story was supposed to go,’ the songwriter began. ‘I spend a lot of time squeezing my eyes shut and trying to remember what I believe; counting my breaths in the grief cloud; burying my face into God’s t-shirt.’

She continued: ‘I remind Him sometimes, (and not kindly) that I believed Him when He told me the story He wrote for me is good, and that He never stops thinking of me. I must be a fool in love, because even from under all this debris, I still believe Him. And when I’m too angry to ask Him to sit on my bed until I fall asleep, He still stays.’

The singer had shared a video of wishing stars floating in the air at sunset and stated: ‘Someone released a fist full of wishing stars at sunset (STAR BALLOONS?! I mean WHAT!!) and yes, I sure did wish on every one.

‘Here we are, you and I, signing off on the risk of REBELLIOUSLY HOPING for better days. Let us not be blind to our own glory.’

The honest star concluded: ‘I’m raging and crying and hoping with everyone who needs to rage and cry and hope tonight. Also wishing on helium balloons. 🎈✨🌊’

The singer had previously been given a two per cent chance of survival from her doctors before her audition. By August, the singer explained she received news about cancer regrowth in her lungs and liver just one week before she pulled out.

During Tuesday’s finale, head judge Simon revealed that Nightbirde’s health battle is actually improving.

‘We are missing Jane tonight, I spoke to her earlier on,’ he told host Terry Crews. ‘The great news is she’s doing better! I know she would have been here at the finals and we’re all sending you, Jane, our love. We miss you. Just get better. We love you.’

Dustin Tavella was crowned the winner of the 16th season after the closest vote ever.

After facing off against stiff competition, Dustin ultimately impressed the US public the most with his incredible magic act.
