Nikki and Brie Bella officially announced their WWE retirements in March last year – but a comeback could be on the cards.
The wrestling twins – who were set to be inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame earlier this year before the ceremony was axed due to the coronavirus pandemic – have revealed they would love to return for one last run.
Speaking to Mario Lopez on Access Hollywood, Brie said: ‘This is what’s hard for Nikki and I.
‘When we left, all of a sudden the WWE women’s tag titles came, and we’re like, “Wait a sec, that’s for The Bella Twins.”
‘We’ve been dying to have tag titles. So, she and I feel like we have one more run in us, so we really want to go for those titles.’
The decorated champions certainly seem excited for a comeback, and Brie admitted she’s already getting chills.
‘I’ve got goosebumps,’ she added. ‘Get me in that ring!’
Back in July, the superstars both gave birth just one day apart, with Nikki having her first child – a son named Matteo Artemovich Chigvintsev – with fiance Artem Chigvintsev, while Brie and her husband Daniel Bryan welcomed their son Buddy into the world.
Meanwhile, Artem recently revealed both sisters have already held talks with WWE about their planned return.
He said: ‘She’s been having talks about coming back and doing something together with Brie.
‘They both have kids, and I feel like they still have this unclosed chapter with wrestling. I would not be surprised.’
During their illustrious careers, the twins each held the Divas Championship, with Brie winning it once, and Nikki holding the title on two occassions.
However, they stepped away from the squared circle before they could really set their sights on tag team gold, with the unlikely partnership of Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax currently holding the belts.
