The cast of award-winning Channel 4 show It’s A Sin will be swapping the Pink Palace for the Bake Off tent this Christmas in one of two confirmed special episodes.

With the ongoing series of the Great British Bake Off nearing its end, it’s hard to imagine Tuesday nights without our new favourite bakers on the box.

But fear not, there will be much more room for baking extravaganzas and disasters alike in two newly announced festive editions.

The first will feature an all-star line-up, with some of the cast from the critically-acclaimed Russell T Davies series testing their skills in the tent.

Olly Alexander, Lydia West, Nathaniel Curtis and Shaun Dooley will all be battling it out to become Star Baker this Christmas.

Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will return to dish out their critiques to the baking hopefuls, whilst Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas try their hardest to sprinkle tidings of festive joy to the contestants.

The show’s official Twitter account wrote on Thursday: ‘On your marks, get set… La! We’re turning our Tent into the Pink Palace as the stars of award-winning @Channel4 drama It’s A Sin don their aprons for The Great Christmas Bake Off!

‘Christmas tree Line-up: Olly Alexander, Lydia West, Nathaniel Curtis, Shaun Dooley Date: To be revealed!’

The contestants played characters Ritchie Tozer (Olly Alexander), Jill Baxter (Lydia West), Ash Mukherjee (Nathaniel Curtis) and Ritchie’s dad Clive (Shaun Dooley), in the heart-wrenching drama which aired earlier this year.

The five-part series was set from 1981 to 1991 in London, following a group of gay men and their friends who lived during the HIV/AIDS crisis in the UK.

The show won an NTA this year, triumphing in the New Drama category, with actor Olly also being nominated for a Best Actor award.

That’s not all, as another Christmas special featuring some of the most-loved contestants from Bake Off past was also confirmed.

Another tweet read: ‘Deck the Tent with boughs of Hollywood! Santa’s sacks will contain four beloved stars from Bake Off Past as The Great Festive Bake Off returns this winter!

Past contestants Hermine, Kim-Joy, Rowan and Jon will be back to bake again, which will surely come as delightful news to fans.

But who will be able to bask in the glory of winning the coveted Star Baker accolade in the upcoming special episodes? You’ll just have to wait and see!

Great British Bake Off airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
