Olly Murs is set to front a revamp of Stars In Their Eyes called Starstruck as he launches his solo presenting career.

The singer, 36, who previously hosted The X Factor alongside the late Caroline Flack after competing on the show in 2009, will host the new ITV talent show.

Olly is said to be excited about his new job and is ready to step out in front of the cameras as a host alone.

An insider told The Sun: ‘Olly is absolutely thrilled about joining the Starstruck team. As well as being a hugely successful musician he’s more than proved his merit on the telly.

‘After watching him do his stuff on the last series of The Voice, ITV bosses knew that he was the right choice to present Starstruck.

‘Olly has great stage presence and is full of fun. Not only that, he knows exactly what it’s like to be on a TV show where you’re being judged.

‘He has been on The Voice for four years and he made a name for himself on The X Factor as runner-up on the 2009 series.

‘Olly can’t wait to get started on the show and thinks this is going to be a great launchpad for him doing more solo presenting work in the future.’

The Troublemaker singer is not the only star being lined up to appear on the programme with Sheridan Smith, Beverley Knight and Adam Lambert set to appear as judges.

Filming is due to commence this summer with four groups of three contestants transforming into their idols, just like popular eighties show Stars In Their Eyes.

The winning group will be decided according to which gets the most votes from the judges with the members going up against each other to win a place in the final and a prize of £50,000.

Olly hosted the 2015 season of The X Factor alongside Caroline Flack, who took her own life last year.

The musician has been planning to return to TV hosting but struggled to juggle his musical commitments and his judging role on The Voice.
