Peaky Blinders will reportedly begin filming for its upcoming sixth season in early 2021 – and yes, we’re excited already.
Talent agency LB Casting Ltd are said to have released an advert looking for actors to appear in a ‘very well-known BBC period drama’.
The agency also seems to have hinted at what show this could be for, as the advert allegedly says ‘by order of LB Casting’ – a reference to the line ‘by order of the Peaky Blinders’, which is often quoted in the series.
LB Casting have worked on Peaky Blinders for past seasons, and currently advertise that they have worked on the show previously on their website.
The advert is reported to include an image of a man wearing a baker boy cap that matches the looks of the characters in the drama, and claims the show will begin filming in Manchester next year, according to The Manchester Evening News.
It also states that male actors who are auditioning to be an extra ‘must be willing to shave hair if required’.
Hopeful males must also have ‘natural looks’ and not bear any visible piercings or tattoos, and they also cannot have modern haircuts or beards.
Meanwhile, potential women going for the role must be size 12 or smaller and have shoulder-length hair.
Fans have found themselves in an extended period without the period drama, after season five finished broadcasting in September 2019.
The sixth season was originally due to begin filming in March this year, but all production was shut down thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
Finn Cole, who plays Michael Gray in the show, previously hinted that the forthcoming season could air by the end of 2021.
Speaking to NME, he said: ‘I’m hoping that we can go back to work next year and that we can have things ready for you by the end of the year.
‘I can’t wait to get back to work and for the fans to see it because they’ve been waiting so patiently for so long now; it’s about time we gave them something.’
Seasons 1-5 of Peaky Blinders are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
