The presenting duo are fronting a festive edition of the ITV daytime show on Christmas Day in a specially recorded episode scheduled to air at 10am.
As the pair sit down to exchange gifts, Phil is clearly emotional after Holly recorded a special poem for him with Tom Foolery, the writer and performance artist who Phil teamed up with for her 40th birthday earlier this year.
‘For my birthday this year you conspired with Tom, with our poem for Holly’s special day,’ it begins. ‘Well in life what goes around always comes back, so now it’s our words headed your way.
‘If there’s one thing we know Christmas is for, it’s for telling your loved one we care. And for over a decade we’ve shared so many moments, and from my first day you’ve always been there.’
In the poem, Holly reflects on the ‘many moments’ they’ve shared together and her pal’s ‘iconic locks’, while she also describes Phil as her ‘mentor and friend’, and admits it’s helped getting to spend time with him during lockdown.
The piece concludes: ‘I can never express to you the difference it made to spend lockdown at work with a best mate. We’ve shared book birthdays and three times you’ve welcomed me here, you’ve been there for me through to this date.
‘So as we rap up this rhyme and we wish you a Christmas divine, we have one thing left to say that is true. You’ve been a mentor and friend and I hope that won’t end, and all I want for Christmas is that you keep being you!’
After the recording airs, Phil looks emotional and blows a kiss to his co-star and thanks her for such a ‘lovely present’.
‘Thank you so much,’ he emotionally exclaims. ‘What a lovely present. It’s beautiful, and thank you Tom as well, thank you so much.’
Elsewhere on tomorrow’s show, there will be two exclusive performances from Leona Lewis, while Alison Hammond hand delivers a big surprise for one special viewer and Joel Dommett shares exciting news ahead of the new Masked Singer.
This Morning’s Christmas Day show airs tomorrow at 10am on ITV.
