It’s been five months since he quit Good Morning Britain but Piers Morgan fans might not have to wait too much longer for his return, as he’s promised to be back on TV soon.
The presenter and journalist took to Twitter to reassure fans – but is ruling out a return to Good Morning Britain despite it being reported that GMB staff want him back.
Responding to the claims, Piers referenced his previous comments over not believing Meghan Markle following her interview with Oprah Winfrey, which sparked his infamous fall-out with Alex Beresford on the show before he quit in March.
‘Unfortunately, I still don’t believe a word Pinocchio Princess says, so this won’t be happening….’ the 56-year-old penned on Twitter.
In a later tweet, he claimed he ‘didn’t actually want to leave’ and joked that he’s now ‘planning world domination’ while enjoying his holiday in Antigua.
Responding to a fan who said she ‘wants him back’, Piers then said: ‘Relax, Evelyn.. I’ll be back on your TV soon.’
Consider us intrigued.
It’s no secret that Andrew Neil has been after Piers for a spot on GB News, but the presenter joked that he’d need a huge payout to consider it.
Meanwhile, Piers has previously made appearances on Fox News following his departure from GMB – could he be making the move there? Only time will tell.
In the meantime, the star is making the most of his break from the small screen by jetting off to Antigua after his lengthy battle with Covid-19.
The presenter couldn’t resist giving his followers a glimpse into his idyllic getaway, sharing blissful snaps on Instagram.
Captioned: ‘Current view. As my sons would put it… ‘not too shabby’ (sic)’ Piers posted a POV snap from his bed, looking out at the sea view.
The Life Stories host also shared a dreamy shot of the beach outside his five star hotel, showing the sun beaming down on the palm trees and sparkling ocean.
Not too shabby in the slightest.
