Christine Lampard has spoken about her pregnancy, saying that going to hospital alone during the pandemic is a ‘lonely’ experience.
The presenter recently revealed she and husband Frank Lampard are expecting their second baby together, posting a picture of her bump on Instagram.
Appearing via video link on Loose Women, Christine said that things were very different this time around, with coronavirus restrictions making hospital visits a new experience.
While she said she’s very happy to comply with the regulations, Christine admitted: ‘It’s a bit lonely going to hospital appointments on your own.’
‘I’m sort of thinking ahead to April,’ she said about the birth. ‘Ideally I would want Frank alongside me. I don’t want to do it on my own.’
Christine went on to say it was a ‘bizarre’ time to be expecting a baby, but the news has already made a positive impact on her family.
‘It’s a little bit of happiness within our family, that’s for sure. In amongst the bleakness of the past year,’ she said. ‘I’ve got two very excited parents back in Northern Ireland who cannot wait.’
The Loose Women star previously shared the happy news of her pregnancy with her followers, writing: ‘A new year and a new baby on the way for the Lampards! It’s been a strange and worrying time to be pregnant but we’re hoping and praying that cuddles from family and friends are not too far off.’
‘Sending all my love to everyone going through pregnancy during this crazy time.’
The couple have been married since 2015 after six years together, and they welcomed their first child Patricia Charlotte in 2018.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV
