Rachel Riley seemed to mock her former Countdown co-star Anne Robinson.
Before she resigned last year after 265 programmes, the mathematical prodigy, 37, and the former Weakest Link host, 78, were rumoured to be feuding.
Rachel called Anne “not the cuddliest person in the world” and said it was “no secret” she preferred her “friendly” replacement. Colin Murray.
The mum-of-two, married to Strictly’s Pasha Kovalev, has revealed more about her professional relationship with the ex-Watchdog presenter.
The set with Colin was “quite different” from Countdown.
Spilling further, Rachel told The Sun: ‘Each presenter has their own style and you don’t always gel with everybody that you work with.
‘Well, you’re not going to get a sympathetic shoulder to cry on from Anne. But she might make you cry!’
On Piers Morgan‘s Uncensored last May, Anne denied feud allegations after saying “she didn’t get on” with Rachel.
Correcting him, the veteran presenter replied: ‘No, I didn’t not get on with her, but some performers like a lot of noise around them before they go on air and others like me, who are trying to get their contestants to remember what their hobbies are, would like some quiet while she’s doing that.
‘So it was important to me that we took her mic off.’
Rachel began her career on Countdown in 2099, succeeding Carol Vorderman.
Anne, who replaced Nick Hewer, left in July 2022, saying she had “stayed longer than I signed up for.”
Channel 4 began in November 1982 with a quiz programme.
It was presented by Richard Whiteley and adapted from the French TV series Des Chiffres Et Des Lettres.
Nick succeeded Des Lynam, Des O’Connor, and Jeff Stelling in 2012.
Countdown airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 2.10pm.
