Death in Paradise star Ralf Little has shared an update on how filming for the upcoming series is going and he does not seem to be enjoying himself.
In a video posted to his Instagram account on Friday, the actor, who plays DI Neville Parker on the BBC One programme, could be seen struggling with the weather conditions in Guadaloupe.
‘We’ve just broken for lunch and we’re about to get our food and er…’ he said as he turns the camera around to reveal a less than idyllic scene.
He was hiding from the rain under a gazebo in what looks like a clearing in the middle of the forest, while fog covered the surrounding hills and tire tracks filled up with water and mud.
As the rain poured down from the side of their shelter, his co-star Tahj Miles was heard in the background repeatedly complaining: ‘I got water in my shoes!’
‘Ugh! It’s not what I can to the Caribbean for!’ Ralf continued while wearing a white vest, before turning to his friend: ‘You got water in your shoes?!
‘Sad times. Sad times on Death in Paradise. Eurgh!’
‘It’s (not) always sunny in Guadeloupe… Poor @tahjmiles’ he captioned the post.
On the same day, Ralf also shared some more of his on-set shenanigans.
In a second video, he was getting ready to film as he told the camera: ‘This is one of the sad realities of my lie and actually a sadder reality of Katie’s life.’
The actor then proceeded to sit back into a chair while makeup artist and hairstylist Katie Mahon blowdried his armpits.
‘This is necessary in the makeup truck before I go to set. It’s very humid here,’ he explained.
‘Absolutely love the banter we have behind the scenes. Thanks again @katiemahon for sorting my armpits out,’ Ralf wrote in the caption.
The actor, who is currently filming the 2021 Christmas special of the show, also recently posted a more polished look for his character.
On Wednesday, he shared a series of snazzy-looking pictures of himself wearing his character’s usual suit and tie on a sunny day in the French Caribbean island.
‘Has Detective Neville Parker ever looked this suave? I think not,’ he wrote.
Coronation Street star Will Mellor, who hosts the Two Pints With Will and Ralf podcast with the Death in Paradise star, was quick to jokingly reply: ‘Nah!! You can still see your face!!’
Back in July, it was announced that the much-loved murder mystery show would receive its first-ever holiday special, coming to BBC One on Christmas day, to mark its tenth anniversary.
Returning for the occasion is Danny John-Jules as charismatic Officer Dwayne Myers, who left the show back in 2018 at the end of season eight.
‘It’s always a pleasure going back to the Caribbean,’ said the 60-year-old actor.
‘After four years away, fitting back into the fold should be seamless as I know the new lead cast members. I look forward to bringing Dwayne and this 10th anniversary special script to life.’
