Richard Hammond brands The Grand Tour co-star Jeremy Clarkson ‘old, leathery and out of shape’ in a savage swipe during the trailer for his new solo Amazon show.
After months of mystery surrounding the show, the team have finally announced the show’s name and release date.
The Great Escapists will finally be dropping on January 29.
In the series, Hammond is ditching Clarkson and James May for a new adventure that sees him stranded on a desert island with Mythbusters’ Tory Belleci.
Using their knowledge of pop-science, the pair have to figure out how to survive life on the island and get to safety.
It doesn’t take long for Hammond to go full Cast Away and adopt a football as his new friend – obviously naming it after his fast-talking petrol head pal.
It’s quite sweet actually, if you think about it. And ignore the insults hurled in the poor ball’s direction.
Tory and Richard become quite the odd couple with Richard relying on Tory’s scientific knowledge and wits in order to survive.
it doesn’t take long for Tory to take things to a new level either – making cars from ship scrap and taking inspiration from Home Alone to protect their new beach house.
With the amount of explosions involved, it looks like the pair might kill each other before they’re beaten by the elements.
Can’t wait to see how this turns out.
The Great Escapists launches January 29 on Amazon Prime Video.
