It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’s Rob McElhenney has paid a sweet tribute to his co-star Danny Devito for his birthday – with the grimmest photo possible.

The comedian and newly-appointed football club owner celebrated his pal’s big day with a memory throwback to season eight of the sitcom.

Straight from Charlie Rules The World – where the gang become obsessed with videogames – Danny’s character Frank is seen at his most feral, talking with his mouthful and mostly naked.

Alongside the photo, Rob wrote: ‘Happy belated birthday to one of my idols and one of my best friends. Can you believe this man is 76 years old? Cheers D!’

To be fair – 76 years old?! We’re pretty stunned too.

We don’t know if Danny is doing anything for his big day – but if he does, we’re sure it’ll be a real classy affair.

Meanwhile, while he’s not celebrating his friends’ peach-eating and computer game abilities, Rob has been keeping himself busy by, for some reason, purchasing Wrexham FC.

Alongside Ryan Reynolds, it was announced this week that they were successful in the bid.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia airs on FX in the US and Netflix in the UK.
