Robert Irwin has released a spine-chilling video of himself being bitten on the face by the same snake that previously left his world-famous father, Steve Irwin, wounded.
The late Australian icon’s 19-year-old son rushed to Twitter on Wednesday to share a side-by-side video of himself and his father being bitten by a python, adding, ‘Déjà vu.’
Robert, like his father, died with blood streaming down his face after being stabbed in the chest by a stingray barb in September 2006.
Alongside the footage, he wrote: ‘Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart.
‘I found this python on the side of a road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan.’
Robert’s stroll down memory lane came soon after he revealed his obsession with gravestones and monuments.
Despite his family’s sorrow when he was just two years old, the zookeeper exhibited a lighthearted approach to death in a recent Instagram post.
Posing beside a number of mausoleums and gravestones, the famous offspring confessed he was hunting for deceased individuals who shared his name.
He captioned his collection of snaps: ‘Roberts of the world… a thread [sic].’
In the gallery, Robert was depicted standing in front of a statue of his initial name, as well as an airport sign in memory of another Robert.
Another video showed him driving near a road with the same name as him and photographing his feet standing on top of a stone with his whole name inscribed into it.
Towards the conclusion of his collection, he posted a photo of a headstone dedicated to someone with his full name as well as the deceased person’s spouse.
Each to their own!
