RuPaul flips the bird at queen after cringiest Drag Race roast performance yet

The roast challenges on RuPaul’s Drag Race are always equally packed with comedy gold and moments that make you want to watch them from behind a pillow.

And the season 13 Nice Girls Roast could be the most painful one yet – but at least it has great meme potential.

Warning: spoilers ahead for the latest episode of season 13 of Drag Race.

RuPaul flipped the bird at Utica Queen twice after the queen’s cruel jokes bombed during the roast.

The remaining six queens were tasked with roasting Miss Congeniality winners Nina West, Valentina and Heidi N Closet, and in her rehearsal with Michelle Visage and guest judge Loni Love, Utica shocked with the amount of cruel jokes she was making, particularly jibes about their weight.

Michelle and Loni warned the 25-year-old that she needed to be funny, not just harsh – but it seems she didn’t heed that advice.

Utica made whale noises at Nina West before joking: ‘I thought you could speak whale’, and told Heidi: ‘You really remind me of the people I grew up with on the farm – gap-toothed and full of semen.’

The quirky queen then turned on the judges, calling Loni’s comedy career ‘hard to swallow’.

But the judge flipped the read back on Utica, saying: ‘You the one bombing!’

The other queens – Kandy Muse, Symone, Gottmik, Olivia Lux and Rosé – were in hysterics, but looked very nervous when Utica turned to RuPaul.

She said: ‘RuPaul, you are such a fashion icon, if you could stand up for us please.’

This was seemingly in reference to Ru’s previous claim that when he’s behind the judging panel, he wears pyjamas or sweatpants instead of full drag, and the tension was palpable.

Cue Ru giving Utica two middle fingers, before making a gesture deemed too rude for Netflix.

During the judging, Utica was read for filth, with the Minneapolis performer saying: ‘I’m still learning what is comedy and what is offensive. When it got off the rails, I started grasping for straws and trying to save myself.’

She didn’t seem to learn her lesson, though, as after her runway look was praised by Ru, Utica said: ‘I wish I could say the same for you’ – resulting in the head judge flipping the bird yet again.

Utica’s performance was the main talking point of the episode on social media, with fans and queens alike stunned by her jokes.

People were particularly baffled by the level of cruelty in Utica’s performance considering she has spent the entire season worried about offending people and being cancelled.

Unsurprisingly, Utica ended up in the bottom two with Symone, and after losing the lip sync, was sent home.

After the show, she tweeted: ‘I want to apologize my performance in this ep of DR. Especially to  @LoniLove, @michellevisage, and @NinaWest, the jokes were in bad taste and my attempt at roast humor was for the lack of better words, horrible..

‘Making fun of people’s size is not okay. I’m truly sorry.’

However, there were no hard feelings, with Nina tweeting: ‘Babe!!! It is a roast, and we were all in on it and fully aware it was a roast. Give yourself a little grace.’

Five queens remain in the race for the crown.

RuPaul’s Drag Race is available to stream on Netflix.
