Rylan Clark has said that a scene in his brand new show may result in him being “cancelled.”
The 35-year-old TV and radio broadcaster is now filming a new BBC Arts series called Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour with none other than TV judge Rob Rinder.
The programme, set to air later this year, will follow Rylan and Rob across Europe as they ‘immerse themselves in the bad behaviour of historic Brits abroad’.
And one scene in particular, set in Florence, Italy, has Rylan concerned that the reaction may either land him in serious trouble or earn him a coveted prize.
‘One scene in Florence I am really worried about. I am getting off with a French rugby player and Rob is dancing on a bar. It is just awful,’ he told The Sun.
He continued, setting the scene further: ‘I have got his number, of course. But I am worried about what French I was saying. We will find out.’
Speaking about watching the risqué footage back, he said: ‘It is making me cringe. You never see yourself kiss someone — I might have to quit public life!’
However, Rylan did express pride in the ‘wonderful’ series, which would also explore European culture, arts, and architecture in the nineteenth century.
‘From a travelogue point of view, it’s beautiful. From an art point of view – I’m sitting in the Uffizi gallery when it’s shut, just seated in front of Venus.’
Rob said of the upcoming show: ‘Italy is so rich in art and culture and I can’t wait to get stuck in, seeing some of the finest things the country has to offer.’
He continued: ‘While Rylan and I almost certainly have different intentions for our trip, I can’t think of anyone I’d rather do this journey with.’
Meanwhile, Rylan announced last week that his mother Linda is on the mend after fracturing an arm and a leg in an accident while on vacation in Spain.
Linda is a regular guest on Rylan’s show on BBC Radio 2 and has featured on Channel 4’s Celebrity Gogglebox on occasion.
