Former Loose Women presenter Saira Khan has revealed she’s been left with permanent damage after appearing on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.
The 51-year-old broadcaster is one of 12 famous faces on the line-up for the upcoming series, which also features the likes of Kerry Katona, Ulrika Jonsson, and Alexandra Burke, with the programme due to kick off later this month.
Speaking to Metro.co.uk and other press, Saira recalled the injuries she sustained will affect her for the rest of her life.
‘I was left with life-long scars, physical ones, and that’s very, very hard to cope with because I am actually a very fit individual to go onto a show actually and experience what I did was a real shock,’ she said.
‘For me, I look back at the experience partly kicking myself thinking why did I have to go and do it to go and prove myself, because I’m now caused myself something that’s for life.
‘But at the same time, I wouldn’t have not done it because it’s the person that I am and I needed to go and prove myself.’

Saira stressed the show was great at supporting her behind-the-scenes, but was unable to divulge further details.
Ore Oduba also said he experienced PTSD following filming.
‘I think it’s probably accurate to say there was an element of PTSD following the show,’ Ore told Metro.co.uk and other press, although making it clear that it was undiagnosed.
‘I’ve never been through an experience like that that haunted me for days following. I remember just doing a workout at home and I felt heavy from the experience.’
The new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins takes place in the wilds of the Scottish Hebrides on one of the toughest selection courses yet.
In the first episode, the celebrity recruits must swim to a remote island after being dropped in the ocean by speedboat.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins begins on Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
