The Sex and The City reboot, titled And Just Like That, will be available to watch in the UK from December, it’s been confirmed.
It was confirmed on Wednesday the next chapter of the Sex and The City tale is going to get a UK release very soon on Sky Comedy and NOW.
The synopsis for the spin-off reads: ‘Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.’
Of course, fans will notice a glaring omission from the cast as Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones, won’t be reprising her role.
However, there won’t be a replacement for Samantha with Sarah telling TMZ there were no plans for a fourth main character.
She recently said to the outlet: ‘We’re not looking to create a fourth character. We have New York City as the fourth character.
‘There will be lots of interesting, new characters we are super excited about.’
SJP previously shared more details of the series, confirming it would explore how the Covid pandemic has changed the nature of friendships in recent months.
Samantha’s future was previously left unclear after Kim and Sarah publicly fell out.
But the door does seem fairly open for her to return, as it’s been confirmed Samantha hasn’t been killed off the series.
Show insiders recently claimed there was hope the character may come back at some point in the future.
A source told the Daily Mail: ‘We’ll announce eventually that the show will have a second season. This isn’t a one off, this will be a series.
‘It will be quite a while between the first and second series as Sarah Jessica Parker has a busy schedule and we have a lot of work to do to get Kim Cattrall back.
‘We all miss Kim and we hope she comes back for the second season – the door will never close on her, she is an important part of the franchise.’
Much of the plot has been kept underwraps, but fans are convinced something has happened between Carrie and her husband Big, played by Chris Noth after pictures emerged of the actress Sarah kissing Jon Tenney on-set.
And Just Like That… will be available on Sky Comedy and NOW TV in December.
