Behind-the-scenes pictures of Sex Education season 3 have teased a massive change at Moordale Secondary School, as stars Emma Mackey and Asa Butterfield are seen wearing conservative school uniforms in their downtime.

The release date for Netflix series Sex Education has finally been announced, with the hit show’s new episodes launching in autumn this year.

Not only will several newcomers enter the mix, including Jemima Kirke as headteacher Hope and recording artist and songwriter Dua Saleh as a non-binary student called Cal, it also seems there’ll be a new vibe at the school.

In the synopsis for the new season, it says that Hope will strive to make Moordale ‘a pillar of excellence’ – so it seems like the introduction of the dreary uniform will be her doing.

In new behind-the-scenes photos released ahead of the premiere, Emma is captured sitting down in her uniform, sporting a brunette fringe as she gazes fixedly at the photographer.

In another image, Asa is chilling on a sofa with co-stars including Sami Outalbali and Chinenye Ezeudu, as Patricia Allison, who plays Ola, beams at the camera.

Dua is seen in uniform in one of the behind-the-scenes images, with their tie done up loose while donning a coat indoors.

Meanwhile, Chinenye, who plays Viv in the show, is shown looking serious in a close-up shot, with another picture showing Patricia looking composed with her hands behind her back while standing in a loft.

In a more light-hearted moment, several of the stars of Sex Education are shown playing a card game, wearing masks in accordance with Covid-safe guidelines.

Several stars of the series are also seen sharing a chat with Rakhee Thakrar, who plays English teacher Emily Sands, while sitting in a circle.

These photos have definitely left us so intrigued to discover how new headteacher Hope will turn the school on its head.

‘It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way,’ the official synopsis teases.

‘Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff.’

Sex Education season 3 is due to be released on September 17 on Netflix.
