Simon Cowell’s American accent is absolutely wild during The Kelly Clarkson Show appearance

We all know that Simon Cowell is a talented businessman, but one thing he can’t seem to do is perfect the American accent.

The America’s Got Talent judge sat down with Kelly Clarkson on a new episode of her talk show – aptly named The Kelly Clarkson Show – this week.

The pair reflected on when Kelly sat in for Simon during the last season of America’s Got Talent after he broke his back in a bicycle accident.

Kelly had posted a video to Instagram while serving as a guest judge, in which she practised delivering some of Simon’s iconic lines while attempting a British accent.

After watching the video of her attempt, Simon couldn’t help but laugh and sarcastically applaud.

‘That was horrible. Let me try to do one in an American accent. Give me something American to say,’ he requested.

Kelly challenged him to try and achieve a Texan accent. We’re sure Simon thought he would sound better than he did.

‘Okay, I’ll do Texan. How y’all doing? I think I want a barbecue,’ he said in what sounded like an accent from anywhere but America.

This, of course, resulted in Kelly erupting in laughter.

‘Nope! Where are you from, the Bayou? Yours is about as good as my accent!’ she said.

The music mogul shouldn’t quit his day job but we have to give him points for trying!

Simon Cowell recently returned to America’s Got Talent after his horror bike accident and is now doing the promo rounds.

This return comes after Simon made an impressive recovery after undergoing six hours of surgery on his spine, which forced him to cancel all his TV work for 2020.

He has made his way back to the show in time for their ‘sweet 16’ season.
