Sir David Jason of Only Fools and Horses has provided an update on his recent operation.
The 83-year-old actor, who portrayed Del Boy in the BBC sitcom from 1981 to 2003, had to withdraw from a convention a few months ago due to health issues.
He added at the time that he was having surgery to have a ‘bionic body part fitted,’ but didn’t want to say what it was since it would make his admirers ‘all want one’.
He then disclosed that he’d been equipped with bionic eyes to halt his uncontrollable sobbing.
Then, earlier this month, he posted a video on social media in which he appeared to be on crutches, implying that he’d undergone another operation.
During an interview on Lorraine on Wednesday, the actor announced that he had undergone hip surgery.

Sir David provided an update when the host inquired about his well-being.
‘I [am fine] but I’, having a little trouble getting the muscles back because I was infirm for a few weeks as it were and I wasn’t using my legs at all,’ he said.
‘That’s where I am now, and I am getting it back now and am doing my exercises.
‘But the hip itself is wonderful.’
Sir David released a video last week in front of a garage in which he walked into frame before dumping his crutches on the floor and walking aggressively towards the camera as the Rocky theme song began to play.
He began punching the air and flexing his pecs, which was hilarious.
The clip was shared on the Only Fools and Horses News Twitter account alongside a caption that read: ‘A little video from Sir David Jason after his successful surgery Let’s send him some love.’
When speaking about his eye surgery over summer, Sir David said he’d needed a ‘canalicular bypass’.
‘Stay with me, it’s not quite as painful it sounds,’ he explained.
‘The canal in-question was in my eye, where a little blockage had started causing it to get a bit weepy.’
However, he said it could all be fixed in a ‘pretty straightforward’ way by having Jones tubes inserted.
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1.
