Soccer Aid 2022: Date, line-up, tickets, managers and how to watch on TV

Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2022 (United Nations Children’s Fund) is fast approaching once more, marking the 11th charity match starring celebrities alongside some of football’s living legends.

Favourites including Martin Compston and Tom Greenan will be lacing up their boots once more to play alongside Teddy Sherringham, Usain Bolt and Sir Mo Farah.

Plenty of newbies will be making their debuts too, including comedian Alex Brooker as the event’s first-ever physically disabled participant.

Presenter Dermot O’Leary will once again be in charge of televisual proceedings, joined by Maya Jama as pundit and Alex Scott as pitch-side reporter.

Who is in the Soccer Aid 2022 line-up?

As ever, it’s England vs Soccer Aid World XI, with England looking to make a strong come back from last year’s 3-0 trouncing.

The 2022 England team includes captain Liam Payne, Tom Grennan, Damian Lewis, Mark Wright, David Harewood and Chunkz.

Debuts come from Lucien Laviscount, Aitch and Alex Brooker, while the side’s legends number Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Fara Williams, Joe Cole, Teddy Sherringham, David James and Mark Noble.

The Soccer Aid World XI is once again captained by Usain Bolt, who this time is joined by returners Martin Compston, Mo Gilligan, Lee Mack, and 2021’s man of the match Kem Cetinay.

Chelcee Grimes, Steven Bartlett, Munya Chawawa and Noah Beck are also taking part as celebrities, while the international legends include Patrice Evra, Cafu, Andriy Shevchenko and Carli Lloyd.

Who are the managers for Soccer Aid 2022?

Soccer Aid’s managers this year are Harry Redknapp, who will move back across to England, while Arsène Wenger is making his debut as manager for the ROW team.

Harry is being assisted by coach and goalkeeping icon David Seaman and co-manager Emma Hayes, while Arsène has Robbie Keane as coach.

When is Soccer Aid 2022 and how to get tickets?

The match takes place on Sunday June 12 at the London Stadium at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford.

Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased from the official website, socceraid.org.uk/tickets.

Prices start from £10 for children, £20 for adults and premium tickets from £75.

How to watch Soccer Aid 2022 on TV

The match will be broadcast live on ITV and STV, with kick off scheduled for 7:30pm.

Although not yet formally announced, TV coverage is likely to begin ahead of then.

During half-time, Soccer Aid co-creator Robbie Williams, 48, will perform his 1997 hit ballad Angels.

Since its creation in 2006 Soccer Aid has raised more than £60million for the humanitarian organisation, which helps to provide aid to children worldwide.
