Steph McGovern has revealed that she was was offered the opportunity to be on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line-up, but turned it down.
The TV host was cornered about her potential spot on the dancefloor by comedian Luke Kempner on today’s episode of Packed Lunch, but she cleared things up pretty quickly.
‘I have actually been asked a couple of times,’ Steph said.
‘I got asked again this year… but obviously I had a show to launch.’
Steph’s show Packed Lunch has been met with mixed reviews since it kicked off, being scrutinised by its low viewership.
The new series falls in direct rivalry with Loose Women on ITV.
When Luke asked if she would be up for doing it at another time in the future, maybe even next year, Steph responded: ‘Maybe’.
The studio audience then cheered her on to agree to it.
So… Steph for Strictly 2021, guys?
Meanwhile those who did agree to Strictly showed off their moves for the first time last week, and were paired up with their pro partners.
This year’s series is also the first to feature a same-sex couple, with Nicola Adams and Katya Jones teaming up for the glitterball.
EastEnders star Maisie Smith is currently the firm favourite to win, after being partnered with Gorka Marquez – but head judge Shirley Ballas has warned her not to get too cocky as others are close behind her.
Former dancer James Jordan reckons that her biggest competition will come from the guys – and thinks a man will take home the win this year.
