‘Stop it!’ Ellie Taylor shuts down Phillip Schofield over Ted Lasso questions

Ellie Taylor is doing her best to stay tight lipped over her future on Ted Lasso.

The 38-year-old star – who has played Flo ‘Sassy’ Collins in four episodes across both series of the hit Apple TV Plus sports comedy – told Phillip Schofield to ‘stop’ as he kept teasing her about a possible return in season three.

While Ellie was happy to note the third series is being filmed at the moment, she was much more coy when it comes to her own involvement in the upcoming run.

‘I don’t think I’m allowed to say that sort of stuff. It’s beyond my pay grade,’ she teased, while Phil’s co-host Rochelle Humes said: ‘I’ve sort of figured it out!’

Ellie quipped: ‘I don’t know what you mean Rochelle. But it’s obviously a glorious show to be involved in and I’m very grateful.’

However, Phil wasn’t done trying to get some details as he joked: ‘To still be involved, it’s a glorious show to still be involved in!’

Rochelle told him he was being ‘so naughty’, and Ellie told him to ‘stop it’ before she started giggling herself.

As the interview wrapped up, Phil couldn’t resist another cheeky dig as he added: ‘Obviously we’ll see series three of Ted Lasso very soon… won’t we?’

Earlier in the chat, the presenter – who appeared in an episode of the show playing himself alongside Holly Willoughby from the This Morning studio – asked Ellie about her experience on set, admitting the crew seemed ‘lovely’.

She gushed: ‘It’s a wonderful show to be involved with. I feel so grateful to be a very small part of it! But yeah, everyone the crew’s delightful, the cast is delightful to work with people like Hannah Waddingham, Jason Sudeikis, they’re brilliant. And it’s so much fun, so much fun!’

The series follows Lasso (Sudeikis), an American college football coach who is hired to coach an English soccer team in an attempt by its owner to spite her ex-husband.

Lasso tries to win over the sceptical English market with his folksy, optimistic demeanour while dealing with his inexperience in the sport.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
