Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin has hinted that he knows how the fifth and final season of the smash sci-fi thriller will end.
The actor, 21, has played Lucas Sinclair on the Netflix hit from its debut episode in 2016, first assisting in the return of Will Byers (Noah Schnapp).
Lucas has been especially close to fan favourite Max (Sadie Sink), alongside whom he faced off against villain Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) last season.
Caleb has already expressed his major desire for Lucas in the finale, that he discovers his ambition, but he hasn’t hinted he’s learned his character’s fate, until now.
When asked about the Stranger Things finale, he answered, “I’m not telling you.” No, I don’t have all the answers yet.
He continued to Collider: ‘I have an idea of what’s gonna happen, but I can’t wait to hear more about it, once this writers’ strike is over.’
Stranger Things’ final season is now on hold due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.
Stranger Things was considered ‘impossible’ to continue after thousands of TV and film writers staged a strike to demand better compensation.
Other Stranger Things performers who have addressed the end episode include Noah, who assured fans that the crew did a ‘wonderful job’ with Will.
In December last year, Noah hinted at how Will’s narrative will conclude, saying: ‘I can just tell you that I’m really very thrilled for what’s to come.
‘I think they did a great job with Will’s character this season, and beautifully addressed everything they needed to. The way they closed the show is just perfect – the story started with Will, and it’ll end with Will.’
Meanwhile, the Stranger Things authors revealed a major spoiler for Season 5 early this year.
On the official Twitter account for the Stranger Things writers, a new tweet posted on Tuesday March 21 read: ‘Season 5 is like if season 1 and 4 had a baby. And then that baby was injected with steroids.’
Stranger Things is available to stream on Netflix.
