Strictly Come Dancing star Caroline Quentin has joked that she’s ‘stunned’ she hasn’t lost more weight while starring on the BBC series.

The actress, 60, who is best known for starring in Men Behaving Badly and Jonathan Creek, is partnered with professional dancer Johannes Radebe and fans watched on as the pair tackle the Cha Cha on Saturday night.

Caroline has been busy perfecting her dance moves both on the floor and in training each week, but she admits that her intense new rehearsal regime has’t really ‘changed her physically’.

‘I don’t think it has quite changed my life,’ she joked, adding: ‘[Strictly] hasn’t really changed me physically that much.’

Caroline continued: ‘I am a bit stronger, but all the rumours of losing four stone in four days are absolutely untrue. I have worked over five weeks and I have lost a pound and a half.’

‘I am stunned,’ she teased. ‘I am actually stunned… I am joking really but I am quite surprised because I am moving about from dawn ’til dusk. Has it changed my life in that way? Not really, no.’

Caroline said the ‘best thing’ about her Strictly experience is meeting her dance partner Johannes, as she addressed Nicola Adams and Katya Jones swift exit from Strictly, after Katya tested positive for coronavirus.

It meant boxer Nicola had to drop out of the competition, with Caroline revealing the ‘worst thing’ about Strictly is having to say goodbye to people.

‘But, we are marching onwards, we are strong in our hearts with a spring in our step towards, hopefully, some good news from the Government about Christmas,’ she said.

Nicola, however, has confirmed she’ll be returning to dance with Katya for the Strictly Come Dancing finale next month.

At the time of her exit, the Olympic Gold medallist had tweeted: ‘Hey guys, I’m absolutely devastated my Strictly journey has come to an end so soon, I had so much more to give and so many people to win this for!

‘But I just want to say a huge thank you to Katya for being the best dance partner anyone could ask for. She pushed me way out of my comfort zone and it’s been an incredible experience!’

Nicola and Katya had made history this series as the first same-sex couple to compete on the show.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday November 28 at 7.15pm on BBC One.
