For Movie Week on Strictly, Jamie and Karen performed a Charleston to Zero to Hero from Disney’s animated classic Hercules, with the Made in Chelsea star dressing as the titular hero.
Jamie and Karen delivered their dance with plenty of energy and zest, working up a sweat on the dancefloor in front of the judges and their fellow contestants.
However, as their routine came to an end, Jamie, 32, struggled to smoothly bring Karen down from her perch on his shoulder.
Rather than helping the dancer dismount gracefully, Karen ended up almost landing on her head, leaving the judges beside themselves with laughter.
Fans of the show could barely contain themselves as they processed what they had just witnessed on TV.
‘Still wetting myself about Jamie dropping Karen. It’s such a hazardous job,’ one person said in response.
‘Did Jamie really just drop Karen like a sack of spuds,’ another commented.
Someone else described the end of their routine as ‘genuinely funny stuff’, while a viewer said they were ‘crying’ over Jamie ‘dumping Karen onto the floor’.
After receiving their scores from the judges, Jamie almost dropped Karen on the floor for a second time after lifting her up in excitement.
Best to let Karen keep both her feet on the ground, Jamie!
Saturday night’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing opened up with a Bond-themed dance routine from the professionals.
Strictly co-host Tess Daly also paid respects to the late Sir Sean Connery, the first actor to play Bond on screen, who died on 31 October aged 90.
Strictly airs on Saturday nights at 7.25pm on BBC One, with the results show taking place at 7.25pm on Sunday.
