Strictly Come Dancing fans, the wait for a 10 is finally over and it’s only week three!
John Whaite and Johannes Radebe really pulled it all out the bag for a near-perfect Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired routine.
Their Paso Doble was full of power and the judges absolutely loved it – so did viewers.
Upon viewing the performance, Craig Revel Horwood simply commented: ‘I didn’t write a thing down, actually, seriously hot, that was unbelievable.’
They were so close to the first 40 of the season, with Craig predictably being the only judge not to whip out the top score paddle – leaving them on 39 points.
Fans were left wowed by the performance and soon expressed their excitement at the quality, which was reflected in the score.
Anton Du Beke was wowed by the duo’s routine despite admitting his initial reservations.
‘I’m a little overwhelmed really, to be honest with you. I thought it might be a bit camp this number, but it was the best thing I’ve seen all night.
‘You were so strong an believable and powerful, your jump was exquisite, your shaping, all the things we’ve spoken about. Listen, you, my old sausage, you’re a beauty.’
Motsi Mabuse was similarly floored, saying: ‘What a night, seriously, what a night – you guys just happen to be the highlight.
‘I don’t care whether it’s week one or ten, you’re getting that ten [score], okay! That was brilliant.’
‘I didn’t want to sit down, I forgot to sit down, I got so excited,’ said head judge Shirley Ballas of the stunning dance.
‘Let me tell you, thank you for taking my note on board last week… you covered the floor just how I like Paso Doble to be.
‘The foot work, the power… I haven’t seen anything like that! Thank you for closing the show like that with such a magnificent performance.’
Elsewhere, Rhys Stephenson also had a fantastic night after he’d already become one to watch this series, having impressed with his first two routines with partner Nancy Xu.
In their Couple’s Choice dance for Movie Week, the duo excelled and Motsi Mabuse couldn’t resist getting out her 10 paddle for the first time, much to the delight of the nation.
An emotional Nancy said of Rhys: ‘I love it because this boy is working so hard and he’s just making everybody proud of him.’
‘You make me so proud and you’re doing so well and I’m so glad you enjoyed this dance.’
