Strictly Come Dancing contestant JJ Chalmers is the bookies favourite to be eliminated from the show this week.

The former Marines Commando, who is paired with Amy Dowden on the series, may have wowed the judges with his Jive last night, but it seems it may not have been enough to save him.

According to bookmaker Coral JJ is the 4-5 favourite to be eliminated from Strictly following the latest round of performances.

While actor and comedian Bill Bailey is now odds-on to win the series at 8-11.

JJ Chalmers is under the most pressure to avoid becoming the next contestant to leave Strictly. We think he will be in a dance-off with Max George,’ Coral’s John Hill explained.

Bill Bailey continues to entertain and impress on the dance floor and is now odds-on in the outright betting to lift the Glitterball Trophy.’

After his performance, Shirley Ballas praised JJ for his ‘fantastic vertical line’, but said he ‘still had things to work on’.

You gave a feeling of celebration and I loved your package, but I must say when you first walked out and did your walks, you had this fantastic vertical line,’ she told him.

‘I know you’re not doing ballroom today, but that vertical line is insane.

‘Unfortunately, for the Jive it needs to be much more forward, had your posture been must more forward, you would have had much more flexibility with your flicks and your kicks.’

‘Having said that,’ she added. ‘I loved the choreography. He could get through it, he was on time, he stayed on time to the music.

‘So many things I liked, but still things to work on.’

Elsewhere in the show, HRVY was the first celeb to receive a 10 from the judges.

The Personal singer and partner Janette Manrara performed a salsa to Dynamite, by BTS.

Viewers were also calling for Anton Du Beke to be a permanent judge on the show.

The professional dancer has temporarily replaced Motsi Mabuse after she was forced to quarantine, following an urgent trip to Germany.
