Maisie Smith brought it back after landing in the Strictly Come Dancing dance-off last week as she racked up all nines from the judges for her salsa routine.

The EastEnders actress, 19, and her dance partner Gorka Marquez, were in the bottom two against Max George in last week’s show, but were saved to dance again by the judges.

Maisie didn’t let last week’s shock of ending up in the bottom two knock her, and made sure she and Gorka put the work in to keep themselves out of the dance-off this time around.

Despite a slight stumble coming out of one of the lifts in the jam-packed routine, Maisie’s performance was a resounding hit with the judges, who all gave her a ‘nine’ each, leaving her with 27 out of 30 for the night.

Viewers tweeted: ‘Really enjoyed Maisie’s dance tonight. Really action packed and the lifts were fab. Couldn’t stop watching every step’ and ‘I had my heart in my mouth for a second there with the small stumble. But what an absolutely PACKED routine!!’

Others added: ‘don’t care what anyone says Maisie is absolutely INCREDIBLE !!!!!!! what a QUEEN’ and ‘Whooaaah! That Salsa! Wow!’

Fans of the show were also vowing to vote for the actress to save her from being in the dance off once again, saying she was a ‘natural’ on the dance floor.

Maisie had addressed last week’s shock result on Instagram, saying: ‘What a night.

‘That was a bit crazy, but I’m so, so thankful to be here another week. I’m having the best-est time and I just want to say thank you for the continuing support. The love is so real.’

Anton Du Beke, who is standing in for Motsi Mabuse on the judging panel, told them: ‘I thought that was absolutely brilliant. We’re only scratching the surface, you’ve got so much more to give.’

As well as telling Maisie: ‘What a way to come back from that dreaded dance-off,’ judge Shirley Ballas had also amused viewers by commenting on the ‘feminine sensing zones’ Maisie needed to utilise in the performance.

With moves like this and a high score to boot, it looks likely Maisie might avoid the dance off in Sunday’s show.

Strictly Come Dancing continues at 7.25pm on Sunday on BBC1.
