Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has pleaded with fans to be kind ahead of tonight’s launch show.

Season 18 of the BBC competition kicks off tonight – with Nicola Adams, Jamie Laing, Clara Amfo and Max George among those competing for the Glitterball trophy.

Side note: We’ve really, really needed the show to return.

And, ahead of the big night, the head judge begged viewers to ‘be good to one another’.

Taking to Twitter, the 60-year-old said: ‘Are we all ready for tonight. @bbcstrictly it’s going to be full of snap crackle and pop.

‘Everyone doing their best. #strictlykindness let’s be good to one another. Enjoy. Let me know your thoughts. Hugs to all.’
