The 33-year-old presenter and the ballroom pro have struck up a connection after a source claimed AJ was ‘falling’ for professional dancer Kai.
Fuel was only added to the rumours when Kai was caught on his microphone telling AJ ‘I love you,’ after performing the foxtrot to Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing.
In an interview with The Sun, AJ playfully admitted Kai has helped bring out her sensual side.
She said: ‘Right, So Kai has not only been teaching me how to dance but he’s been teaching me how to act. There’s a lot of passion, there’s a lot of chemistry, there’s a lot of romance, it’s thrilling!
‘And in practice I could not look at Kai without bursting out into laughter. But now hopefully come Saturday night, I’m going to look at him eye to eye, look in love and it’s going to be amazing. But it is awkward’
AJ also revealed she doesn’t mind getting too close to Kai, as she’s too busy thinking about perfecting their routine each week.
‘I’m just concentrating so much that I’m not really focused on being in his personal space,’ AJ said.
‘And then when it comes to the performance, then I’m like, oh yeah Kai, brilliant, let’s do this,’ she added.
Body language expert Judi James recently told us that AJ is giving off ‘flirty signals’ in rehearsals with her dance partner. while an insider told The Sun last weekend they believed romance was ‘100% on the cards’.
They said: ‘Everyone backstage is talking about the sparks flying between AJ and Kai. It’s very passionate and intense whenever they’re together.
‘They’re both single and have really hit it off and everyone on the show is saying it’s only a matter of time.’
Viewers will be seeing the dancing duo like never before this weekend, as they will be performing an Argentine tango, a dance known for its passion and intensity, to Stevie Nicks’ Edge of Seventeen.
Strictly Come Dancing returns this Saturday at 7.05pm on BBC One.
