Strictly Come Dancing 2021: Giovanni Pernice teases celebrity partner and we need answers

Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has teased us all by showing off the tiniest detail of his celebrity partner, and we need some answers.

Fans are just hours away from knowing who will be paired up, ahead of this weekend’s launch special.

But the professional dancer couldn’t help but give us a glimpse of his partner, uploading a video to his Instagram stories showing a pair of rather blistered feet, on what looks like a dance floor.

In the video, Giovanni captioned: ‘Welcome to strictly partner,’ along with an ouch gif – referencing their bruised feet.

Many fans speculated former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn would be partner with the Italian dancer on this year’s series

Katie, who began starring in Hollyoaks as Becky Quentin this year, was previously romantically linked to Giovanni, who confirmed his relationship with former Love Island star Maura Higgins earlier this summer.

The dancer said to Hello! Magazine: ‘You can have a curse anywhere, if you go to the office, you can have a curse with a person that’s working with you.

‘It’s not a Strictly Curse, it’s something that if you’re single,’ he adds.

‘If your partner’s single and you end up liking each other, there is nothing wrong with that.

In July, Maura and Giovanni decided to go public with Instagram posts in which they each declared: ‘I’m yours.’

The 31-year-old Italian has reached three finals in the past five years, with partners actress Georgia-May Foote, radio presenter Debbie McGee and singer Fayer Tozer.

This year’s returning pros include two time champ Oti Mabuse, Dianne Buswell, Johannes Radebe and Gorka Marquez.

It won’t be long before we’re all putting our feet up and watching a brand new bunch of celebrities prepare to take on everything from the waltz to the rumba, and everything in between.

McFly’s Tom Fletcher, presenter AJ Odudu, Dan Walker, Tilly Ramsay and Judi Love are one of many big names included in this year’s star-studded line-up.

Strictly Come Dancing launches on Saturday, followed by the first live show on September 25.
