With the first live show happening in a matter of days, Strictly Come Dancing star John Whaite has teased fans with a new look just in time for Saturday.

The English baker uploaded a series of stories teasing his fresh cut and colour. In the first snap he shared with his 128,000 followers, he captioned the picture: ‘She’s having her hair done.’

Later he shared the end look saying: ‘She’s had a cut and colour done.’

Saturday’s launch left fans delighted to see John, 32, partnered with Strictly pro Johannes Radebe, 34, making history the show’s first all-male pairing.

Their first dance will be a Tango to Blue Monday, with the pair working hard behind-the-scenes to ensure they’ve nailed each step before they take to the dancefloor in a bid to impress the judges and the nation.

While it’s clear that the two have a laugh together, John admitted the intense training started to get to him, following a row he had with Johannes that left him in tears.

On Tuesday, John and Johannes had their first joint interview on Steph’s Packed Lunch, updating host Steph McGovern on what’s happening behind the scenes.

John admitted he cried was because Johannes was being too nice.

He said: ‘I’m just not getting it so please can you talk me through the steps, be horrible to me and I’ll get it.’

‘He was like, no darling, I don’t do that. I started crying.’

Thinking about Saturday night’s show, John added: ‘I’ll be clinging onto this one for dear life.

‘I think that was the biggest shock, he’s been spinning around all these women all his life and he’s now got a 15 and a half stone lad.’

Strictly Come Dancing returns this Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
