Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse has shared the heartwarming moment she reunited with her mum on Instagram, which marked three years since they last saw each other.

The professional dancer 31, documented her surprise visit to South Africa on social media, where she reunited with parents Peter and Dudu during the Christmas holidays.

The mini travel vlog showed the star at Heathrow airport and at the beginning, she expressed that she hadn’t been home in ‘four years.’

The clip also saw Oti smiling from ear to ear as she lands in South Africa, before driving down to her parent’s house.

She later silently crept around the house before giving her relatives big hugs while expressing their shock to see her.

Alongside the video, Oti wrote: ‘FINALLY AFTER YEARS I WAS ABLE TO GO HOME TO SOUTH AFRICA.

‘Decided to suprised my family and not tell them I’m coming home just to see their expressions, mom was speechless (touched me all to see if I was real, dad couldn’t stop smiling and my god mother cried her eyes off).

‘To say I was emotional is an absolute understatement I have been waiting 3-4 years to hold my moms, dad, sister, nieces and nephews in my arms and just spend time with them NOT through a screen.

‘I rarely share family events but this felt really special to me and I know so many others are in my position and were buzzing when RSA was taken off of the red list.

‘Covid has really taught me how much family is above all and should never be taken for granted. Please excuse the coming photo dumps that will be flying your way.’

This beautiful moment came at the perfect time as Oti will be joining ITV’s Dancing On Ice judging panel in the next few weeks after it was confirmed she will be replacing John Barrowman.

The ballroom and Latin pro who won the glitterball trophy two years in a row said it’s ‘more than an honour’ to join Ashley Banjo, Jayne Torvill, and Christopher Dean in January 2022.

She added: ‘I can’t wait to see the celebrities thrive as they learn how to ice-skate and to champion the professional skaters as they create incredible choreography.’

Meanwhile, Strictly will head out on tour in cities up and down the country in the spring, with stars of the 2021 series hitting the road.

Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
