Strictly Come Dancing contestant Dan Walker has given some insight into the coveted WhatsApp group – which some eliminated stars have decided they no longer want to be a part of.

The competition for the Glitterball Trophy is well and truly hotting up, with just eight couples left in the running.

But while many of the stars who compete on the show regularly stay in contact, it seems there are some who have already decided to call time on the WhatsApp group.

Speaking to the Daily Star, TV presenter Dan teased a couple of exits from former stars on the messaging platform.

He said: ‘We started off with all 15 [contestants]. Most who have left [the show] have stayed in the group.’

But when asked if he could reveal who had decided to quit the group, he teased: ‘I can tell you nothing!’

Celebrities who have been sent home so far include EastEnders star Nina Wadia, Corrie and Hollyoaks’ Katie McGlynn and actor Greg Wise.

Other more recent ballroom casualties include former rugby player and Question of Sport’s Ugo Monye and Olympian Adam Peaty, who was eliminated on Sunday night.

Despite Dan referring to some pictures that ‘will never see the light of day’ there does seem to be some pretty wholesome content in the conversation as well.

The BBC Breakfast host added to the publication: ‘We talk about anything from jam to Jive.

‘As the weeks have gone on, people talk about their injuries, painful knees, what their dance partner has tried to make them do, how exhausted they are.’

The star – who is partnered with Nadiya Bychkova – revealed on It Takes Two that he is among those suffering with injuries woes.

Addressing how training was going so far, he told host Janette Manara: ‘It’s been going alright, we’ve had a slight issue this week. I had a bit of an injury to my left calf.

‘We haven’t been able to do that much dancing this week.’
