Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas charging £83 for personalised video messages

Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas is the latest celebrity sending personalised video messages to fans on Cameo.

The head judge is taking bespoke video requests for £83 a pop, while her supporters can chat privately for £9.12. Not bad going if you’re looking out for that special Christmas prezzie for a loved one.

Shirley, 60, joins the likes of Caitlyn Jenner and Carole Baskin, who are active users on the site, and she’s already sent out a number of birthday and anniversary greetings.

The professional dancer has glowing five-star reviews for her efforts, with one satisfied punter writing: ‘Wow Shirley! – I am so impressed with your quick response, and your message is just perfect. As Mum & Dad’s favourite Strictly judge they will be so happy to see your message. Can’t thank you enough!’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another wrote: ‘You did such a great job, a wonderful message and we cannot thank you enough for the energy and and love in your video. We cannot recommend you enough.

‘If anyone is thinking of a Cameo? Shirley should be your first choice❤️.’

Fellow Strictly stars Amy Dowden and Neil Jones are also flogging videos on the site, as well as former judge Arlene Phillips.

They’re not the only television personalities to turn their hand to personalised video greetings in recent months.

Selling Sunset couple Mary Fitzgerald and Romain Bonnet are raking in extra cash by sending clips to their supporters – albeit separately – making a cool $100 (£80) a pop.

Meanwhile, The Inbetweeners star James Buckley was (metaphorically) laughing all the way to the bank after it was reported he’s profited £100,000 by filming messages.

Examples of said videos can be found on James’ Cameo profile, where he’s been given five star reviews for his efforts.

His reel includes birthday messages, wedding shoutouts and short clips where some people have just wanted to simply roast their pals, with James channelling his inner Jay and dropping the character’s famous abusive one-liners.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7.10pm on BBC One.
