Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse quits Twitter ahead of results show

The television personality announced she is departing from the social network ahead of tonight’s results show, due to being overstretched on three other platforms.

‘Hi guys I have decided to leave Twitter !! It’s been fun but I truly think with Instagram , Facebook and TikTok.. it’s enough social media,’ Motsi penned. (sic)

She continued: ‘Please keep up my #strictlykindess hashtag !! You know where to find me.’ (sic)

Fans were sorry to hear of Motsi’s departure from the app and flooded her tweet with kind messages.

‘I love you and I always loved your tweets,’ wrote one. ‘I guess I’ll have to go and follow you everywhere else then so I don’t miss your posts.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘What a shame. U will be missed.’

Motsi’s Twitter account was a force for positivity and she often retweeted posts with love heart emojis.

Earlier this week, the professional dancer opened up on the responsibility she feels as a black woman on a primetime TV show like Strictly.

The 39-year-old dancer explained to Woman & Home: ‘I am one of the very few black people in Germany on TV, and on the BBC.

‘I understand my responsibility of representing black people and I don’t take it for granted.’

Motsi was forced to miss two episodes of this year’s Strictly as she had to spend two weeks self-isolating after she had to return home to Germany when her dance school was targeted in a break-in.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, Motsi had quarantine for two weeks on her return as a precaution. Anton Du Beke covered her absence, and sat alongside Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas on the panel.
