Strictly Come Dancing star Craig Revel Horwood finally tasted victory in the Masterchef kitchen as he was crowned the winner of the Christmas special.
The Strictly judge last competed in 2007 but didn’t get to lift the trophy.
On Wednesday night’s festive episode that all changed as judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode handed Craig the win for his ‘indulgent’ cooking.
The TV star was thrilled to finally win after 13 years, joining Monday night’s winner Janet Street Porter as this year’s festive champions.
He said: ‘I have been waiting a long time for this. I’ve had a great time. I’d give everyone a great big Christmas kiss and hug if I could. I never win anything and I love it. This is the best Christmas present ever! Absolutely amazing.’
Gregg said: ‘Craig put a lot into his main course. It was delightful. The winner had to be him when you look at the technical skill, the ambition and the flamboyancy. It was absolutely delicious; it was Christmas indulgence. Well done Craig!’
‘Today was a proper display of festive fantasticness,’ John added.
‘Craig has been waiting 13 years for this! He is flamboyant, his food is indulgent and that is what Christmas is about. His food was amazing today.’
The dancer faced off in the kitchen against former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews, actress Crissy Rock and presenter Amar Latif.
The dancer whipped up an alternative Christmas dinner of fillet of beef with sauté potatoes and pork, rosemary and cranberry stuffing.
John was a fan, calling his sauted potato dish as ‘so well seasoned they are like the best pack of crisps you have ever had in your life’ while the beef was ‘absolutely perfect’.
His dessert was a black forest rose crepe filled with cherries in a cherry brandy liqueur. Dessert fan Gregg hailed it as ‘fantastic’.
Craig was paired with Amar for the invention test and together they made a Christmas Yule Log.
