Gemma Atkinson is allegedly in discussions for a future Celebrity Gladiators special.
The Strictly Come Dancing dancer, who made it to the final of the BBC’s Latin and ballroom show in 2017, is about to put herself through another incredibly strenuous battle.
The 39-year-old actress was a major fan of the gameshow during its first run on ITV in the 1990s, and her agency has stated she is in talks with producers about appearing on the revival.
Gemma heard that a celebrity special was in the pipeline, and said to her agent she would love to be involved,’ an insider told the Mirror.
‘Gladiators was Gemma’s favourite show as a kid, and, because she’s so into fitness now, it would be her dream gig. Talks are ongoing – the show team are thrilled that she is so keen.’
Back in 2018, the former Hollyoaks actress admitted it was actually iconic Gladiator Jet who inspired her own fitness journey.

‘This lady here [Jet] was the reason I started going to the gym and training,’ she wrote years before BBC brought the show back. ‘I used to love Gladiators.’
She’s in luck, since Beeb executives have decided to commission a celebrity spin-off following the enormous success of the return series.
Dan Baldwin, Hungry Bear Media’s executive director and Holly Willoughby‘s husband, recently told BBC Radio 4: ‘I can say that we are planning to have a celebrity special.
‘You always look at old shows no longer on television. You are always coming up with new ways of bringing back a show.
‘There’s nothing wrong with that because those shows were great for a reason. We’ve always got an eye on what could come back and be a hit like Gladiators is.’
Finlay Anderson and Marie-Louise Nicholson were named Gladians champions earlier this month following a dramatic final battle and 11 weeks of challenging challenges.
The hit competition returned more than two decades after its first run, with challenges against Sabre, Fury, and Steel. Fans are eager to apply for season 2.
