Strictly Come Dancing star Hamza Yassin has offered a frightening warning about a dangerous insect, demonstrating how it got caught in his leg.
The wildlife documentarian, 33, posted a disturbing video on social media, instructing his fans on what to do if the same thing happened to them.
In dramatic situations, Hamza and his professional dancer Jowita Przystal defeated Fleur East and Vito Coppola, Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, and Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez to win the glitterball trophy.
He’s since returned to animal exploration, but a recent update shared with fans is a touch creepier than we’d like.
Hamza posted a video on Instagram showing his swollen leg with a live tick half inside it, trapped with its body glued to his skin.
‘Those that work in the [Scottish] highlands will be aware of this, but if you don’t and are visiting the highlands, make sure you tuck your socks in and take precautionary steps because the ticks are absolutely out this year,’ he cautioned.
‘If you locate one of them, use a tick remover and consult your doctor. Make sure you don’t have a red swelling since Lyme’s Disease is a serious problem. So I’m going to take this one out shortly.’
According to the NHS, Lyme disease is a bacterial illness that may be transmitted to humans by infected ticks, and it can produce a dark pink rash, a high temperature, headache, muscular discomfort, and fatigue.
In severe situations, persons diagnosed with Lyme disease may experience symptoms that endure for years, similar to chronic fatigue syndrome.

According to the CDC, depending on the stage of infection, people with untreated Lyme disease might experience more severe symptoms such as facial paralysis and arthritis.
Fortunately, Hamza was able to remove the insect out of his leg, and he shares his method in the following video.
He continued: ‘So, I’ve got the tick remover and I removed the tick.

‘Sorry I couldn’t show you it because I don’t have too many hands but you use the little tick remover underneath.
‘Make sure you don’t just tug on it, twirl it like this first and the tick will come out.
‘More importantly, the tick with its mouthpiece comes out and then it’s down to you to get rid of the tick any way you see fit. Alright, see you soon, bye.’
