The NFL player, who was partnered with Luba Mushtuk, left after achieving a judges score of 12 and losing out to Nicola Adams and Katya Jones in the public vote.
Writing on Instagram after the show, Jason said he was grateful for the ‘incredible experience’.
‘Thanks for having us Strictly! We’re obviously gutted to be leaving but it’s been an incredible experience, which will live with me forever,’ he said.
Jason added: ‘The support and kindness shown from you – the Strictly community – has been overwhelming. The fantastic team that work tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver the show have been a joy to work with.
‘Then there’s Luba – my Team No-Breaks partner – who I’ve had such a blast with. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Good luck to everyone in the coming weeks.’
Jason and Luba performed a Paso Doble to the Star Wars theme song on last weekend’s show.
They follow Jacqui Smith and Anton Du Beke, who were the first couple to be eliminated this year.
Meanwhile, former Strictly star Kevin Clifton has criticised the show’s empty studio, saying it ‘does not have that same effect’ without an audience.
Strictly Come Dancing continues next Saturday at 7.25pm on BBC One.
