The Great British Bake Off winner and his professional partner Johannes Radebe performed the Cha Cha to Starstruck by Years And Years on Saturday night, with judges Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, and Shirley Ballas awarding them 31 points.
After the dance, John had joked to Claudia Winkleman that he loved the song so much that he could get a permanent inking on his body. But as it turns out, he was being dead serious.
Joining Janette Manrara on tonight’s It Takes Two, John said the number meant a lot to him.
‘I had the best night and even though we had a little gag, I am going to get one of those little planets tattooed because that night I felt like I had been born,’ he enthused.
‘All my life, I’ve had that voice saying don’t be too flamboyant, don’t be too camp,’ he continued, before turning to Johannes and adding: ‘And we went and we were camp and flamboyant.
‘So, I have to get a tattoo.’
Years And Years frontman Olly Alexander sent John and Johannes a message to congratulate the pair on their dance after they’d taken to the ballroom.
‘Hi John and Johannes,’ he said in a pre-recorded video. ‘Oh my gosh, thank you so much for choosing Starstruck for your Cha Cha.
‘I absolutely love watching you guys, I’m so happy you’re in this competition.’
He added: ‘Keep killing it and I’m just going to send you all my love. Best of luck. Have the best night. Thank you!’
It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two and Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.45pm on BBC One.
