Strictly Come Dancing’s Ranvir Singh reveals cheeky text to Giovanni Pernice after naked joke

Ranvir Singh isn’t shying away after making a naughty joke about a naked Giovanni Pernice on-air yesterday, revealing she later sent him a text to continue the banter.

The Strictly Come Dancing star was surprised with a sweet video message from the professional dancer on Lorraine yesterday.

However, Ranvir left viewers hot under the collar by suggesting Giovanni was naked under his cardigan due to the plunging neckline revealing a bare chest.

Discussing the cheeky joke on Good Morning Britain, host Charlotte Hawkins asked: ‘You had a special message yesterday but I think it was the outfit that caught your eye wasn’t it?’

Ranvir feigned ignorance and replied: ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about Charlotte. Yesterday was another day, today’s a new day.’

She then confessed: ‘Do you mean Giovanni’s cardigan?

‘I text him, I said “you’ve got a lovely kitchen and you’re alright too”.

‘He said, “shade”. Quite rightly.’

GMB presenter Adil Ray then added fuel to the mounting romance rumours between the Strictly pair and noted: ‘Nice to see that you’re keeping in touch outside the professional world.’

Proving to be the queen of deflection, Ranvir pointed out: ‘We keep in touch outside of the professional world, Adil don’t we?’ to which Adil awkwardly joked: ‘Oh yeah, I don’t think we’re talking about it.’

Ranvir and Giovanni delivered such convincing performances during their time on Strictly that viewers believed they were dating quietly behind-the-scenes.

Fuelling the speculation, Ranvir said on GMB last week: ‘I think we will stay friends. Why not because we’ve experienced something quite deep and intense actually. That’s the very special thing so of course we’re going to stay friends. I adore him, actually he’s a sweet little soul.’

Praising her dance partner, Ranvir added: ‘He doesn’t accept anything less than what you believe you can do. He’s very challenging in the training room… if you’re in the same room as him and you’re on his team, you’re sort of duty bound to be as driven as him.

‘He had to change the way he was teaching me… because I was finding it so exposing. The thing with dancing is it’s very much “look at me. Don’t listen to me, just look at me” and that has never been me. I’m not that person who puts my body out there, I don’t really feel that way about myself.’

‘I was very naive about it.’

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
