Strictly Come Dancing star John Whaite says he feels ‘guilty’ over his same sex partnership with dancer Johannes Radebe as they have ‘got it easy’.

The 32-year-old chef made history with Johannes, 34, as the first all male couple to compete in the competition.

While fans are excited to see more of the dancing duo, John admitted to conflicting feels over their pairing.

On Monday night’s It Takes Two, John said: ‘I feel guilty because we’ve got it easy, but people are still struggling to be accepted.’

He added: ‘We’re doing it in an easy way, but I feel guilty about that.’

While chatting to new host Janette Manrara, Johannes explained the challenges of dancing together.

Johannes said: ‘Me and John are big boys.

‘John had to do double the work, the follower and the leader and he still doesn’t know what it means.’

John and Johannes also got the seal of approval from celebrities including Steps singer Ian H Watkins, who previously competed as part of Dancing On Ice’s first ever same-sex partnership with pro skater Matt Evers.

The pair made their debut dancing to a rendition of Blue Monday, which left the judges full of praise.

Fans will also be delighted to know that the pair will be bringing the party on Saturday night with a Cha Cha Cha.

They both scored 30 out of 40, which put them joint second with Olympian Adam Peaty and his partner Katya Jones.

No celebrities left the show during Saturday’s episode as there was no public vote, with all 15 of the celebrities making it through to next week.

However in week two viewers will help determine the two stars who end up in the first dance-off of the series.

Strictly It Takes Two airs weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two
