Frankie Bridge said that her Strictly Come Dancing partner Kevin Clifton ‘became furious’ while competing on the famed BBC competition.
During a recent episode of Loose Women, Amanda Abbington reportedly requested footage of herself training with her former Strictly partner Giovanni Pernice for legal purposes.
When she appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2014, she spent a lot of time with Kevin, 41, during preparations.
‘You are two complete strangers who are spending all this time together.
‘They [professional dancers] are used to competing… so they do want to win. You come into it as someone who doesn’t know the art of ballroom dancing and Latin. You have to try and learn.
‘There are emotions on both sides,’ she reflected.
‘Luckily for me, I had a really good time, but by the end of it, the further into the show you get, it genuinely gets stressful.’
Ruth Langsford, who competed on Strictly alongside Anton Du Beke, questioned the Saturdays singer whether she ever had a falling out with Kevin.
‘No,’ she answered before quickly adding: ‘But there were times when he was angry, not at me, but there were times when he was angry at things like if something didn’t go right or whatever in a rehearsal.
‘But actually, I found it quite entertaining almost as he’s not like that normally. It was almost a bit of a shock when he was like that. That goes to show the stress they are under, and how much they want it to go well.’
Ruth, 63, called her partner Anton, 57, ‘the loveliest man in the world’ and added that they’ve remained friends since their partnership in 2017.
Coleen Nolan has never appeared on Strictly, however she did say throughout the show that she would want to.
The series follows a similar premise, with celebrities paired with a partner who teaches them their routines – the only difference is the addition of skates and ice! Coleen described Stuart Widdall as’very professional’ but said he ‘wanted to win’.
‘He used to shout at me, and ask “Why are you doing that?” I’d say “Because I’m not an ice-skater. Stop shouting at me”.’
As a result, Coleen skipped a practice, but the two had an open discussion about how to work together and got along great for the rest of the series.
Amanda, 51, who withdrew from the competition last year owing to ‘personal issues’, sought video of her practice time with the Italian dancer, 33, after being ‘broken’ by the ‘whole experience’ of the series.
The source alleged Amanda was ‘really stressed by having to spend eight hours a day with Giovanni’ and ‘spent a lot of time crying’ and has further claimed it has ‘taken her months to get over what she went through’.
However, another source said to be close to Giovanni, has revealed that he has found ‘some of these allegations deeply unfair and offensive.’
They added to The Sun: ‘He has had support from producers over what has happened recently and they are behind him.’
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV1.
