Zara McDermott of Strictly Come Dancing has revealed that she only has three toenails remaining.
The Love Island star, 26, is still healing from the BBC One show after being voted out as the fifth celebrity with boyfriend Graziano Di Prima.
While allegations circulated that she had given her all to Strictly and was ‘devastated to be out,’ the show has undoubtedly made an impression on her – in a ‘disgusting’ way.
‘If I showed you my feet right now I think you’d genuinely throw up,’ Zara revealed on the Saving Grace podcast.
‘I’ve got blood blisters, still, I’ve not danced for two and a bit weeks now and I’ve got blood blisters, all the skin has come off.
‘It’s disgusting, I’ve actually only got three toenails left.’
She went on: ‘Seriously, they’ve all come off, it’s disgusting.’
Zara has had to find methods to look gorgeous despite her feet, and has even purchased in ‘court shoes’.
‘I’m already embarrassed at the thought of someone touching my feet,’ she said, wondering how she’d go for pedicures.
‘I’ve invested in a couple of court shoes,’ she added, while Grace joked she’d have to ‘stick on’ fake toenails to get past ‘the horror’.
Zara isn’t the only Strictly competitor seeking for measures to protect her feet from the impacts of the show.
Angela Scanlon previously reported that she cleansed her foot with bleach and miraculously recovered.
The presenter, who found herself with a ‘grim’ blister infection after training, said: ‘I had a blister infection last week, which was pretty grim, but actually my mum was over from Ireland and she gave me a tip which sounds kind of medieval!
‘I basically have been bathing my feet in a gentle-level bleach.’
She went on: ‘Actually, it’s worked a treat!’
Angela said that she wasn’t expecting it to work, but she was at a stage in her life when she was willing to try anything, and she was pleasantly delighted to discover that she was able to push her feet further in training before she and partner Carlos Gu were voted out.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7.35pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
